- Open Microsoft Outlook Express
- Select Tools from the bar along the
top of your screen
- Select Accounts
from the Tools
pop-up menu
- Click on the Add button along the
right-hand side of the Internet Accounts window
- Select Mail from the pop-up
menu
You will get an Internet Connection Wizard
open. Read carefully and follow the instructions. We will
give you any information that you need to fill in. When
all the necessary information is filled in on each screen,
click on the Next button.
- Under the E-mail Server Names
window, fill in
- Incoming mail = pop1.sgci.com
- Outgoing mail = mail1.sgci.com
- Under the Internet Mail Logon
window
- Choose Log on using and type
- POP account name = your username
(the name that you use to connect to Spectrum)
- Password = the password that you
use to connect to Spectrum (it must be typed exactly, i.e.
use capital and lowercase as necessary)
- Under Choose Connection type, choose
Connect using phone line
- Under Dial-Up Connection, choose Use
an existing dial-up connection and choose the connection
that you use to connect to Spectrum (i.e. Spectrum Connection)
Click on the Finish button and close
the Internet Accounts window.To get or send your e-mail, click
on the Send and Receive button at the top of the Outlook
Express window. Your new messages will be in your Inbox.To write
a new message, click on the Compose Message button. Enter
the e-mail address of the person you are sending e-mail to in
the To: field and the subject of your e-mail in the Subject:
field. Type the main body of your message in the large white
box at the bottom of that window. When you are done with that
e-mail, click on the Send button in the top left corner.
When you are done writing all of your e-mail messages,
click on the Send and Receive button.
