- Open Eudora Light
- If you're opening for the first time
then skip these two steps
- -Select Tools from the
menu bar at the top of the window
- -Select Option from
the pop-up menu
- Scroll the category list to the first item
and select Getting Started
- In the POP account field,
enter your Spectrum username (used to log in to Spectrum) followed
by "@pop1.sgci.com" (eg jsmith@pop1.sgci.com)
- Enter your name in the Real Name
field (this will appear on any email you send out)
- Enter your email address in the Return
Address field.
- Next, select the Hosts category
(3rd from the top)
- Enter 'mail1.sgci.com' in the SMTP
field
- When you're done, click on the OK
button to save your settings.
Eudora Pro
- Open Eudora Pro
- Select Tools from the menu
bar at the top of the window
- Select Options from the
pop-up menu
- Scroll the category list to the first item
and select Getting Started
- Enter your real name in the Real
Name field (this will appear on any email you send
out)
- Enter your email address in the Return
Address field.
- Enter 'pop1.sgci.com' in the Mail
Server field.
- Enter your Spectrum username (the name you
use to log in to Spectrum) in the Login Name
field.
- Enter 'mail1.sgci.com' in the SMTP
Server field
To send a new email message, open the Message
menu at the top of your screen and select New Message. Enter the
email address of the person you want to write to in the To field,
and the subject you'd like in the subject field. Enter your message
in the large empty box below, then click 'Send' at the top of
the message window to send the email.
To check for new email, open the File menu at the top of your
screen and select Check Mail. If you are prompted for your password,
enter it in the white box. If you have new messages, they will
appear in your InBox mail box. To open your Inbox, open the Mailbox
menu at the top of your screen and select In OR double
click on the 'In' item in the far left pain on your screen. To
view an email, simply double click on it.
